    The LAB Academy is offering this PPF course for Beginner and Intermediate level installers. We understand the challenges with PPF and how difficult it is to get certified, choose the right brand, the difficulties you may have with the various software and plotters associated with cutting your PPF just right. We’ve created this program to jump start you into the world of PPF, without having to go through the 12 month learning curve that is required by most installers certified by other brands. PPF isn’t easy, it requires a lot of practice, it requires a lot of back end work, and this program will get you through the most difficult parts that you would otherwise have spent months troubleshooting on your own.

    The LAB Academy is a comprehensive course provider; we will not abandon you upon completion of the course. All successful students will have access to our PPF Training database, and will have the opportunity to continue to receive virtual and in-person training if necessary for up to 1 year of completing training of the course. 

    Successful completion of this course will give you the ability to purchase and apply the various brands of PPF that we will be training you on, and gives you exclusive access for The LAB Nexus Films at our Installer Preferred Rate.

  • DAY 1

    1. Receiving the vehicle

    • Inspection, detail report, form sign offs, client expectations, upsells

    2. Vehicle preparation

    • 2 Stage Wash and decontamination, Clay Bar application, Vehicle tear down, part removal, emblem removal

    3. PPF Prep

    • Plotter Prep, Software prep and integration, Material Wastage Management, Preparing the film for application

    4. PPF Application

    • Slip solution, Tack Solution, Experimenting and testing the various films, Trimming and tucking methods, Heat application, Steam Application, Edge work, Laying and squeegee methods

    • Troubleshooting problems you may run into

  • DAY 2

    • The second day of training focuses entirely on Hands on practise, and your ability to install PPF professionally. Under the instruction of one of our Application Specialists, you will be working on various parts of the car, cutting, laying, and trimming PPF and will be assessed on quality of your workmanship. 

    • Test will be completed on various sections of the vehicle

    - Fender

    - Headlights

    - Side mirrors

    • Upon successful completion of the assigned test areas, you will receive our PPF installation designation, and will be eligible to purchase and install the various films we are certifying for, as well as exclusive dealer access for our LAB Intego PPF.

Over the course of the last few years, PPF installers have increased significantly in demand. Those who are working on a salaried or hourly position, can make anywhere from $30 - $50 per hour, and contract installers can earn more than $70k + per year at a comfortable work schedule. Factors affecting your pay are generally dependent on your experience, and the quality of your work. We have PPF installers who are making upwards of $300k in revenue per year!

This 2 day training is not meant to make you an expert. Instead, its meant to significantly reduce the time it requires you to become an expert. PPF, like many other skills, is not one that is achieved easily, instead it requires practice, and perfection. This training has been specifically designed for you to be able to effectively learn the right skills, understand the industry, the tools, tips and tricks required to be a leading PPF installer. We aim to give you the ability to install PPF on your own by the time the training is done, but it will take some more time for you to be an expert.
